Kanona Petals sit 4th on 15 points after 9 matches and boast the meanest defence in the league, shipping just 4 goals and keeping 6 clean sheets so far.
Goalkeeper Lilian Nachande has been key to that record, pulling off big saves.
The back four is marshalled by skipper Taonga Sakala, who reads the game well, puts in key tackles, and plays out from the back, while centre-back partner Cecilia Mwansa dominates in the air and uses her positioning to cut out danger.
Going forward, Tryness Mwape is their set-piece specialist and proved it with a stunning free kick to beat Chitambo Queens. That result ended Chitambo Queens’ unbeaten run, and they’ve now suffered 2 defeats this season.
