🌟 JENNIPHER: A GIRL WHO IS TURNING TALENT INTO HONOUR
Jennipher Phiri, popularly known as “Mapopwe,” was on Friday, 28 August 2026, recognised as one of the pupils who have brought honour to Linda Community School through sport, particularly girls’ football.
The rising football talent received a Certificate of Recognition during the school’s Award-Giving Ceremony for deserving students, presided over by the Headteacher, Madam Doreen Nzila.
Standing proudly in solidarity with the young footballer was her Sports Teacher, Mr Kalanda Mbita, whose presence added meaning to a moment celebrating discipline, talent and perseverance.
Mapopwe has already begun leaving her footprints on the football landscape. She was among the goal scorers for the ZASSA Chilanga District Under-17 Girls team during the Lusaka ZASSA Provincial Interdistrict Football Tournament, helping to put her district’s name on the football map.
Beyond the school pitch, Jennipher is developing her football craft with Progress Sport Club, which continues to guide and nurture the young talent as she pursues her sporting career.
Her story is more than a certificate. It is a reminder that when schools recognise talent, communities nurture it, and football provides a pathway, a young girl can transform potential into purpose.
From the classroom to the football pitch, Mapopwe is proving that the girl child does not have to choose between education and sport—she can excel in both.
âš˝ One girl. One dream. One football. A future in motion.
Keep playing. Keep learning. Keep inspiring.
