As the Chipolopolo continue to prepare to take on Ivory Coast on June 3 2022 in a Total Energies AFCON 2023 Qualifier, the Zambian FA have been busy at work trying to ensure that all is set for the titanic clash, part of the work the Football Association of Zambia have been doing is working round the clock trying to help the likes of Aime Mabika and Frankie Musonda get their necessary documents in order so as to be enable them feature in a FIFA sanctioned game for Zambia. One might ask, but how come ? because we have already seen them in Chipolopolo colors. Yes we have and that was only in friendly encounters. The duo played with British [Frankie] and American [Aime] passports which is no surprise because friendlies are not that strict as anyone can play in a Friendly, it has happened with the likes of Diego Costa who is Brazilian born and at one time played a friendly for the Selecao before switching allegiance to Spain.
As things stand both Aime and Frankie are done with the paperwork and it’s now up to the Ministry of Home Affairs to give the green light as both do qualify to feature for Zambia. Once Home Affairs are done, both should be issued with Zambian passports then FIFA should be notified after which they too should give the all clear for the duo to feature for the Chipolopolo in a proper International Fixture.
Kudos must go to the Zambian FA who have are working hard contacting other players with Zambian roots. It’s good to learn that talks with the likes of Jadel Katongo’s representatives are progressing well but that is a story for another day as his handlers don’t like the spotlight. The scouting for more players on the Die-Hards end continues like always, just last week there was a discovery of two young Zambians on the books of Sky Bet Championship youth teams playing for the Under 14s but like is the case with most kids Under 16, consent of parents and the like must be obtained which is at times a 50/50 affair. Maybe it’s better to see the boys d
