CONGRATULATIONS, CRIS CYBORG 🇧🇷🇿🇲

MMA Zambia extends our heartfelt congratulations to Cris Cyborg on another victory and another extraordinary chapter in one of the greatest careers in combat sports history.

A World Champion across Strikeforce, Invicta FC, UFC, Bellator and now PFL MMA, Cris has achieved things in Mixed Martial Arts that may never be repeated.

But here in Zambia, we remember Cris for something beyond championships and victories.

In 2021, Cris Cyborg Justino travelled to Zambia to support the inaugural MMA Zambia Symposium.

She came not for a fight purse or an appearance fee. She asked us for nothing. She came because she believed in what we were trying to build and because she genuinely wanted to give back to the sport and to its athletes.

She shared her experience with our fighters, helped us launch our Women's Commission, spoke about female empowerment and inspired a generation of young Zambian athletes to believe that their own dreams in this sport were possible.

Some of the athletes who were inspired by that visit have since gone on to represent Zambia on the continental and world stage.

That is the measure of a true champion.

The belts, victories and records tell the story of Cris Cyborg the fighter.

Her generosity, humility and willingness to use her platform to lift others tell the story of Cris Cyborg the person.

From everyone at MMA Zambia, congratulations, Cris.

Thank you for what you have given to our sport.

🥊🇿🇲 VICTORY IN THAILAND!

Congratulations to Chipego Simukuwa “The Blue Beast” of Ulemu Fight Academy , who has won his professional Muay Thai debut today at the Samui Super Fight in Koh Samui, Thailand! 🇹🇭

Making the transition from the MMA cage into the home of Muay Thai, Chipego put on an impressive performance against Italy’s Luca, with the bout going the full distance. Chipego dominated the first three rounds of the five-round fight to secure victory and proudly fly the Zambian flag on international soil. 🇿🇲

This is a fantastic achievement for Chipego, Ulemu Fight Academy and Zambian combat sports as a whole.

Today, Mixed Martial Arts Zambia ( MMA Zambia) was honoured to participate in the National Peace Conference and Official Launch of the World Unified Martial Arts Federation for Peace (WUMAF-P), hosted by the ZAMBIA TONG-IL MOO-DO FEDERATION at the National Sports Council of Zambia - NASDEC Lusaka.

The conference brought together martial arts leaders from across the country in a shared commitment to promoting peace, unity and nation-building through sport, culminating in the signing of the Peace Accord and the official launch of the WUMAF-P initiative.

Representing MMA Zambia at this historic occasion were President Henry Shoko and MMA Zambia Life Member Benjamin Z Bush who joined fellow federation leaders, including Mr. Alfred Foloko President of the NOCZ, Nayombe M Muliyunda, President of Martial Arts Zambia, Shihan Simba Mangaba, and other distinguished guests from the Zambian Martial Arts fraternity.

MMA Zambia extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Bohoussou Kouame Dieudonne, Chairman of the Zambia Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation, for the kind invitation and excellent organisation of this important event. We also thank Dr. Chung S*k Yong, International Chairman of the World Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation, whose keynote address reinforced the vital role that martial arts play in developing disciplined young people, cultivating ethical leadership and promoting peace within our communities and across the world.

As a federation, we firmly believe that martial arts are about far more than competition. They are a powerful platform for building character, creating opportunities for young people, fostering mutual respect and strengthening national unity.

MMA Zambia looks forward to working alongside our sister federations and partners as we continue using sport as a force for positive change and as a vehicle for developing not only champions inside the arena, but responsible leaders who will make a lasting contribution to Zambia and beyond.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we can use martial arts not only to produce champions, but to build character, strengthen communities and contribute to a more peaceful and united Zambia.
