Partnership Between Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Southern Province and Futebol Da Forca.
Choma District – The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Southern Province is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with Futebol Da Forca, aimed at revolutionizing women’s football in the region.
This collaboration will see Futebol Da Forca sponsoring the FAZ Women’s District League, marking a pivotal moment for female athletes in the Southern Province.
Futebol Da Forca Country Director, Mike Ndebele, emphasized his organization’s unwavering commitment to supporting women and girls in football and welfare.
“We are proud to be a part of this initiative that not only promotes the sport but also enhances the lives of female athletes. This partnership will pave the way for the Southern Province to host its first-ever Women's Provincial Tournament, allowing all district teams to participate and showcase their talent,” said Ndebele.
Mr Ndebele also highlighted the importance of qualified coaching in elevating female football to international standards. As part of this partnership, Futebol Da Forca is dedicated to training coaches, which will be among the key projects initiated to enhance the quality of the sport.
“Football is more than just a hobby; it is a viable career path that can provide a livelihood. We firmly believe that this partnership brings much-needed support to the girl child, offering them opportunities previously unavailable,”.
Florence Tawanda Ndaba, FAZ Southern Province Women Representative expressed her gratitude towards Futebol Da Forca for their commitment to girls’ football.
“We are incredibly thankful for this partnership, especially as it comes at a time when female athletes have been overlooked. This initiative will inspire girls to take football seriously, recognizing it as a legitimate career path,” she said.
Ms Ndaba further noted that the planned women’s training program, set to take place throughout the partnership, will significantly boost self-esteem among female players and empower them to combat abuse.
FAZ Southern Province Chairperson, Niccholas Moomba, described the partnership as a promising start to a series of collaborations that align with the campaign promises made to improve football in the province. “This partnership signifies a new era for women’s football in Southern Province, and we are excited about the potential it holds for our athletes".
As we move forward, FAZ Southern Province and Futebol Da Forca are committed to fostering an environment that nurtures talent, empowers women, and drives the growth of football at all levels.
The Signing Ceremony was attended by the FAZ General who has committed the associations Support to football development in the province.
