P**p Patrol ๐๐ฑ๐ฆ
It has taken a bit of training but we have managed to get our local helmeted guinea fowl flock to play a very useful role in managing the paddocks. Scratching through the horsesโ droppings in search of oats - they spread the manure, allowing it to dry out, break down and return nutrients to the soil and pasture.
Itโs a simple, natural system that helps reduce flies and means less time spent manually managing manure โ allowing more of our time and labour to go where it matters most: looking after the horses.
Can't say the job doesn't come without any risk though - bet this one wishes he had a real helmet๐คฃ
