- 19 APRIL 2026 @ NORTHWOOD CRUSADERS -

No two Sundays look the same - and that’s what makes this special.

Some games click, some don’t. Some kids charge in, others hang back a bit - and then suddenly they’re in the middle of it, giving everything. That’s the stuff you can’t coach, you just watch it happen.

There were moments of proper teamwork, moments of chaos, lots of tenacity, and moments where you could actually see the kids figuring the game out for themselves.

That’s where the magic sits.

We go again on the 3rd of May - ready for whatever it brings.

- 12 APRIL 2026 @ HILLCREST VILLAGERS -

Sundays hit different when the season’s in full swing.

It’s early mornings, grass still wet, kids running barefoot without a second thought - and somehow the nerves disappear the moment they step onto the field.

Big tackles, missed tackles, breakaways, laughter, a few tears - and plenty of learning in between. Exactly what Mini Rugby should be.

To the kids - keep backing yourselves and each other.
To the coaches - thank you for the time, patience, and effort you keep putting in.
To the parents - the sideline gees was loud, and it makes all the difference.

Next week we go again. Same energy, same vibes - just growing stronger every time.

Hi WOB family,

Mini's rugby matches are around the corner and we can’t wait to see our kids back out there doing what they love 🏉💙

Our first games kick off on 12 April at Hillcrest Villagers - early mornings, muddy feet, big smiles and lots of sideline gees incoming!

And save the date… our WOB hosting day is on 14 June ❤️ always such a special day for our club, with loads of rugby, laughter and community spirit.

Fixtures will be confirmed each week, so we’ll keep sharing updates as we get them from DRSU.

For now, get these dates in your diaries and start getting the kids (and yourselves!) ready for another awesome season 😊

It's the news we've all been waiting for - 2025 Mini Rugby is here!
We'll be holding an Open Evening at the club on Friday, 31 January, where members old and new are invited to experience the WOB culture and gees, ask questions, meet our committee, run around on the field, and throw some meat on the braai. Be there at 17h30 for 18h00.

Our 2025 training sessions get underway from Friday, 7 February from 17h15 to 18h30. Our amazing coaches are ready to share their knowledge with kids from Under 7 to Under 11, while getting them fit and ready for upcoming 2025 games. Parents are welcome and are able to grab a drink from the bar or meals and treats from the tuckshop and Hotbox Pizza, while watching their kids from the club house. Put this date in your diaries, and we'll send out details for registration and confirmation of subs in the coming days.

Looking forward to seeing you all at WOBs on the 31st at Westville Old Boys Sports Club, Jimmy Bellows Sports Fields, 5 Link Road, Westville.

Our Under 18s took on Hillcrest this past weekend for the second time this season. In keeping with WOB tradition, our scrums were devastating, and our backline was keen to stretch their legs. Uyanda Fikizolo ran in a try, with Josh Garnett slotting the conversion. Unfortunately, with a few of our key players out due to injury after a long school and club season, Hillcrest were too strong for us this time round, and the final score was 7 - 29.
