Very few people know this… 🏊♂️
Swimming may temporarily improve something called blood flow distribution efficiency inside the body.
In most land sports, gravity constantly pulls blood downward, forcing the heart to work harder to return blood back up.
But in water, the external water pressure around the body helps push blood more evenly toward the chest and heart.
That means during swimming:
• circulation dynamics change
• the heart may pump more efficiently per beat
• the body can sometimes deliver oxygen with less cardiovascular strain compared to certain land exercises
This is one reason many rehabilitation centers use water training for recovery and controlled cardiovascular exercise.
The pool doesn’t just change how your body moves…
it changes how your body circulates blood. 🌊🫀
