So today is a special day here in South Africa, it's Mother's Day and I want to take this opportunity to wish all my followers who are either Mothers or play a Mother role, a Happy Mother's Day!!

Hey, there my ...

Wow, another Friday is here and the weekend lies ahead of us, this picture is a throwback to warmer days, but the message it portrays is something that definitely connects with me and I can personally attest too.

Having a fit body not only benefits physical health but also positively impacts mental health. When you exercise regularly, your body releases endorphins, which are known to reduce stress and improve mood. Additionally, regular physical activity can help with anxiety and depression, as it promotes well-being and self-esteem.

So when you are feeling a little down, do like I do and do some exercise, it will help lift up your body, mind and soul.

But for now, sit back, relax and enjoy the chilly autumn mornings, the warm sunny days and the rain-filled evenings (well here in Gauteng, South Africa in any case...).

Good morning my ...

With it being Worker's Day here in South Africa and Internationally today, many of you will be resting and taking it easy. This leads me to this post where I want to talk about why it's important for both you and me to rest between our workouts.

Here are my benefits on why I take rest days and I am sure they would be applicable to you too:
- I find it improves my performance
By increased muscle tissue building
It helps reduce fatigue
And it improves my coordination
- Reduced risk of injury
It helps reduce Joint and Muscle inflammation
It reduces muscle soreness
And improves flexibility

Please feel free to drop me a few comments on why you take rest days and why they are important for you.

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday and resting well??

Many followers ask me why I chose Calisthenics. I explain to them that I chose Calisthenics as it's a form of exercise that uses your natural bodyweight movements to improve strength, flexibility, and overall fitness.

I also have found that it is a great way to improve your overall health and fitness levels without expensive equipment or gym memberships. I must say that I also find that calisthenics is not only practical but also enjoyable and challenging, and for me, it's a great way to stay active and healthy!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, rest well and be blessed.

I hope this message finds all of you well and ready for the weekend?? I hope you will take it a little easy this weekend and rest and relax, just like I plan on doing.

Talking about relaxing and taking it easy, I have been combining Yoga into my Calisthenics workouts and I must say I am seeing great results. Calisthenics and Yoga are two forms of exercise that have many benefits for the body and mind.

When practised together, they can create a holistic approach to fitness that supports overall well-being. Here are some ways in which why I think combining both Calisthenics and Yoga into your workout is something to consider:
Both Calisthenics and Yoga focus on bodyweight exercises that use the resistance of your own body to build strength and endurance. This is a great way to improve your fitness without needing any equipment or gym membership.
Yoga emphasizes flexibility and mobility, which can help to prevent injury and improve range of motion. Calisthenics, on the other hand, focuses on building muscle mass and strength. Combining these two disciplines can create a balanced approach to fitness that supports both mobility and strength.
Both Calisthenics and Yoga are great for improving mental health. Yoga is known for its calming effects on the mind and body, while Calisthenics can help to boost confidence and self-esteem through the accomplishment of challenging exercises.
Practising Calisthenics and Yoga together can also help to improve your posture and balance. Yoga poses require stability and balance, while Calisthenics exercises like push-ups and planks help to strengthen the core muscles that are essential for good posture.

Overall, I think that Calisthenics and Yoga are two forms of exercise that work together for me and help me to create a balanced, holistic approach to fitness.

When I decided to start my fitness journey, which was more than 2 years ago, this was something that I wondered about, and ended up doing a lot of research on, which one was going to be better for me, Bodybuilding or Calisthenics. Calisthenics and Bodybuilding are both popular forms of exercise, but they differ significantly in terms of their approach and focus. While bodybuilding emphasizes lifting heavy weights and building muscle mass, calisthenics focuses on using your own body weight to perform exercises that increase your strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Here are some reasons why calisthenics was a better choice for me:
Increased balance: Calisthenics exercises require you to balance and stabilize your body, which can improve your overall balance and coordination.
Mobility: Many Calisthenics exercises involve full-body movements that can help improve your joint mobility and flexibility.
Movement: Calisthenics encourages movement and functional fitness, which means you'll be better able to perform everyday tasks that require strength and flexibility.
Flexibility: Calisthenics can help improve your flexibility and range of motion without putting too much stress on your joints.

Overall, calisthenics offers a more holistic approach to fitness that can improve your overall health and wellbeing. So, if you're looking for an exercise routine that focuses on more than just building muscle mass, calisthenics might be the way to go.

Hey there my ,

I hope this post finds you all well?? Sorry I have been so quiet recently, but I have had to take some time off for an operation and was offline for about 6 weeks.

While being on bed rest, I have realised that Calisthenics is a great way to improve your physical health and fitness. Regular exercise can also positively impact your mental health, helping boost your mood and improve your overall mindset. Incorporating callisthenics into your daily routine can give you a sense of accomplishment and boost your motivation to keep pushing yourself. So, keep up the good work and stay committed to your fitness journey!
