Champs Netball Development As we all know, sports are competitive by nature. Coached at various institutions, schools, one on ones and helped alot of kids furthering their potential.

Champs Netball Development forms part of Champs Sports Development and is very blessed to have experienced coaches, with Protea player Monique Reyneke as head of coaching of our netball development program. At CND it is our intention to place less emphasis on winning and more emphasis on the development of individual skills; while promoting a passion and love for the game within participation as w

ell as respect and recognition of the importance of safety of the game. The goal of our Program is to provide an enjoyable learning experience for each youth participant; through developing character, sport related skills, sportsmanship and promoting good will among all individuals. Learners will have the opportunity to learn new skills within the basics of the game, rules of the game and how to follow them, along with the fundamental skills as well as our core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring. Gaining confidence and getting plenty of exercise in the process whilst most importantly, learning to play netball SAFE & having A LOT OF FUN!!!!!! Some of the individual Skills that we focus on are:

Etc. We are very fortunate to have Protea Netball player Monique Reyneke as the Head of Coaching of the Champs Netball Development program. She's a Level 2 netball coach with a BA Grade in Human Movement Science and Psychology with Honours in Sport Science. Here's a short CV of Monique's career thus far:

Player:
2011- 2014 – Played S.A Schools for Gauteng.
2015 - 2016 – u/21 Baby Protea Squad.
2017 - u/21 Baby Protea Vice-Captain at the u/21 World Cup (Gaborone, Botswana).
2018 - Presidents-12 Team, Vice-Captain (Diamond challenge).
2019 - current - SPAR Protea Netball Team.
2019 - Nomination for Player of the Tournament at Varsity Cup. Various tournaments participated in as a Protea player - African Cup x 2; England Test Series; Malawi Test Series; Tri Nations SPAR Challenge Uganda and Namibia Test Series (Over-all Player of the Tournament); Ireland & Northern Ireland Test Series; Quad Series (London, England). She currently have 30 Caps

Coaching:
2015 - 2022 - Assisting Coach Dorette Badenhorst (Current SPAR Protea Netball Head Coach) with various netball clinics. Champs Netball Development forms part of Champs Sports Development and is very blessed to have experienced coaches, with coach Dewald Pieters the owner and head of coaching of CSD having over 20 years of coaching experience, working mostly with kids between the ages of 3 to 18. All our coaches are Certified, SAP cleared and will provide safe, ethical and passionate training sessions which adhere to the values of discipline, personal growth and respect for others.

Friday Night Lights Enters a New Chapter – Bigger and Better!

We are thrilled to announce that Friday Night Lights, presented by Champs Sports Development, is moving to an exciting new venue as we continue to grow! 😁

Since our inaugural FNL Primary Schools Pre-Season Rugby Series in 2022, with just 5 schools and 9 teams, we’ve experienced incredible growth. Over the past three years, the demand for more space led us to expand to three rugby fields and, with the addition of netball in 2024, we also required four netball courts. We are blessed beyond. 😬

A huge thank you to NWU Vaal Rugby Club for making this journey possible. Your support since 2022 has been instrumental in helping us grow and take FNL to the next level. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🤝 🙏

The Next Chapter Begins

After careful planning and discussions, we are excited to reveal our new venue for the 2025 Friday Night Lights Sports Series:

🏉🏐 Hoërskool Transvalia will be the new home of FNL, hosting 11 primary schools competing across provincial borders as they prepare for their 2025 netball and rugby seasons.

With our main sponsor LCTS (Lekwa Cooling Tower Services) support we will have four netball courts and three rugby fields filled with talented U13 and U11 players, we look forward to witnessing the rise of future Proteas and Springboks!

The journey continues—bigger, better, and brighter under the Friday Night Lights!

NWU Vaal's netball dream team made history this weekend in Pretoria at the Intervarsity Tournament held at Tukkies by beating Kovsies (21-20), TUT (33-21) and the University of Venda (36-23).
