What a weekend. What a ride. 🚵⛰️

The 2026 Underberg Gran Fondo was one to remember.

To every rider who travelled from near and far to take on our gravel roads, thank you. Your determination, sportsmanship, and sense of adventure are what make this event so special. We hope you leave the Southern Drakensberg with incredible memories and stories to tell.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, marshals, water point teams, medics, photographers, local landowners, sponsors, and the entire Sani Spoors team. Events like this are only possible because of the many people working behind the scenes to make them happen.

A special thank you to ORIAL OUTDOOR for partnering with us this year. We’re proud to work alongside a local brand that shares our passion for quality, adventure, and the outdoors. Thank you for helping make this year’s event even more memorable.

To The Olde Duck Farm , our local community, and everyone who supported the event, thank you for your incredible hospitality and for making every rider feel welcome.

Most importantly, thank you to every person who lined up on the start line. Whether you completed the 42km, 90km, or 140km route, you are now part of the Underberg Gran Fondo story.

Here’s to the friendships made, the challenges conquered, and the unforgettable kilometres shared.

NO LATE REGISTRATION FEE

A social media post earlier caused confusion regarding late registration. Riders already entered in the 2026 Underberg Gran Fondo will NOT have to pay a late registration fee to register on Saturday.

The R150 surcharge is a late entry fee for riders who enter late.

Registration times are Friday 2-5pm and Saturday from 6am to 7.30am @ Sani Spoors Adventure Centre.

Start times:
140km @ 8.00am;
94km @ 8.05am;
41km @ 8.10am

Tomorrow, the Southern Drakensberg comes alive as we welcome riders from all over for the Underberg Gran Fondo! We can’t wait to share an unforgettable weekend of gravel riding, breathtaking scenery, and the incredible community that makes this event so special.

Late entries will be available at The Olde Duck Farm during registration:

Late entries are subject to the race entry fee plus a R150 late entry fee.

On race day, you’ll roll out alongside the crystal-clear Umzimkulu River before tackling your chosen challenge:

🚵 140km

Expect spectacular views of the Southern Drakensberg, well-stocked water tables, incredible support, and a finish line celebration at The Olde Duck Café complete with a complimentary chocolate milk, hot showers, secure parking, and a relaxed chill zone for riders and supporters alike.

At Sani Spoors, we’re proud that this event is about more than just racing. Every entry helps support our local community, cycling development, schools, charities, and the continued maintenance of the trails that make this event possible.
