Great 10 days of diving in South Africa and Mozambique!

8 species of shark in total.

At the Aliwal Shoal we dived with Ragged Tooth Sharks, Bull Sharks, Blacktip Sharks and Whitetip Reef Sharks before heading north to Mozambique where we dived with Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Silvertip Sharks and Blacktip Sharks.

Other highlights included Eagle Rays, Bottlenose Dolphin, Mobular Rays, Spinner Dolphin, Round Ribbontail Rays,Paperfish and Frog Fish.

Now of for a Big-5 Safari - awesome!

6 species of shark

Moderate NS current ,23-25 degrees temp and 20m visibility

Dive 1: pinnacles.+8 bulls for the whole dive, 3 silver tips , a hammer and a tiger

Dive 2: pinnacles(tiger drop), grey reef shark, tiger , 3 silver tips and a bull

Dive 3: pinnacles. +15 bulls , a black tip , 3 silver tips and a leopard shark and loads of round ribbon tail rays and potato bass on the pinnacle (awesome dive)

5 species today

Dive 1: pinnacles. 5 silver tips , 1 eagle ray, potato bass and round ribbontails

Dive 2: pinnacles. 2 tigers , 5 bulls, 1 black tip ,2 silver tips and a school of plus 40 hammers. Also huge shoals of kingies around the pinnacles

Great start to 2020 with great shark sightings and 4-species of shark. Loads of Ragged Tooth Sharks all over the reef. Other shark species included loads of Blacktip Sharks, sightings of Whitetip Reef Sharks and even a Tiger Shark.

Aliwal Shoal was as full of Round-Ribbontail Rays, Blue Spotted Rays, Potato Bass, Pipe Fish and loads more....

Diving with Ragged Tooth Sharks!

So first day in Mozambique for 2019

Dive 1. Tiger Shark, Couple of Bull Sharks. Couple of hammerhead sharks and blacktip sharks. Some devils rays. Big shoal of kingfish and pick handles baracuda.

Dive 2. Big school of hammers, fifty plus. Bull Sharks for most of dive. Some quite inquisitive. Devil ray and round ribbon-tail ray. More baracuda.

Great start to 2019 at the Aliwal Shoal today!

Dive 1: Raggies Cave. 1 Ragged Tooth Shark, 7 hammerheads sharks, turtles, round ribbontail ray, blue stingrays and 3 eaglerays.

Dive 2: Chunnel. 5 raggies, devil rays, honeycomb rays, blue stingrays, blue spotted stingray and round ribbontail ray.

This month on the Aliwal Shoal we have had slightly cooler water but the Ragged Tooth Sharks are still around in huge numbers of upto 30 on a dive.

Apart from the Ragged Tooth Sharks we have also had Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, a huge number of different Rays including Devil Rays, RoundRibbontail Rays, Dolphin and much more.
