We started our swim school in February 2014 in Bergvliet and have been helping you and your family to swim confidently and efficiently since. Started by Chris Scott in 2013, he has had the support and assistance from his family and friends in starting Smart Swimmers. Chris is originally from London, England and was teaching, coaching and managing swimming classes and schools before moving to South

Africa where he continued to this point of starting up his own swim school. "Smart Swimmers" as a name and ethic is a product of his own swimming technique, which is based around efficiency - being able to glide through the water effortlessly. He has been working in swimming for over 10years but started swimming as a child where he developed into a squad swimmer, competing in galas for school and club. Smart Swimmers are running Learn-to-swim lessons, Squad sessions as well as Team Building exercises. Learn to Swim:

We are running private 1-2-1 lessons for adults and children learning the basics and getting confident in the water. The lessons run at 15 minute intervals giving you the option as to how long would be suitable for you. The Learn-to-swim program shall progress from basic techniques to introducing all four strokes (at your pace) focusing on efficiency in the water and perfect technique. Mini squads:
For the more advanced swimmers we run small groups of up to six in a class building on the techniques and stroke development as well as initiating speed and stamina training. This is also where the basic skills set of training initiates with diving, tumble turns and underwater strokes. Squads:
This is for the elite swimmers where we are training for goals such as triathlons, school galas or provincial competitions. We focus on stamina and speed training as well as perfecting technique. If you've got any queries, please contact us and we'll get back to you immediately!
