⛳ Good luck to our Brodie League team this Saturday

This Saturday, 5 September, six of our own head through to Caledon GC for the Brodie League Quarter Final against Theewaterskloof.

The team: P. Baatjies (Captain), H. Witbooi, G. Human, S. Hendriks, M. Jordaan and T. Swart.

If you're around the club this week, give them a word of support — always appreciated before a match like this.

Not long to go now — it's only one week before the Swellendam Ladies Golf Day on Saturday, 5 September.

We have a full house, with ladies joining us from near and far for a day of golf and good humour.

Shotgun start is at 9.30am. For our players who'd prefer to arrive earlier and settle in, we'll have delicious coffee on the go from 8am.

On the day: lunch and prize-giving included, a goodie bag, and two natgats waiting for you — because who doesn't like a lekker natgat.

PS. Don't forget there will be raffle tickets on sale for a super hamper — R50 for 3, or R20 each.

DANEEL CUP 2026 ⛳ Meet the six players for Swellendam Golf Club

Six clubs, six teams, 36 players, one trophy — and on Saturday 19 September the Daneel Cup will be played on our beautiful course.

Introducing our side:

Juan Colyn
Wouter Groenewald

Paul takes the captaincy and between these six golfers, there's plenty of local course knowledge — which never hurts around our greens.

They'll be up against Heidelberg, Stilbaai, Riversdale, Riviersonderend and Bredasdorp - medal play.

The Daneel Cup is coming to Swellendam!

On Saturday, 19 September 2026, Swellendam Golf Club will host this multi-club team competition, first established in 1932 — the Daneel Cup.

𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀. 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀. 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺.
𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆.

Teams from Heidelberg, Swellendam, Stilbaai, Riversdale, Riviersonderend and Bredasdorp will battle it out in medal play, with every player carrying the hopes of their club onto the course.

It’s a competition steeped in tradition — and there is only one question:

Who will take home the 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿?
