The Amatola Fly Fishing Club (AFFC) was formed in 2013 through the amalgamation of one of the oldest fishing clubs in South Africa, the Frontier Acclimatisation Society (circa 1894), and the Stutterheim Trout Angling Club. The club currently manages and administers the trout fishing in Gubu, Maden, and Mnyameni dams. The fishing is open to club members and also to the public through a day-ticket s

ystem. Gubu Dam has self catering accommodation that is open only to members and their hosted guests. other fishing clubs, school groups, event groups, social groups, etc.) may request use of the clubhouse by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Member and public access to other waters is also facilitated by the club.

The Biggs boys are at it again!! Perhaps some "training" for the Trout Classic in November?
Nick Biggs and his son Robert found some good fish this past weekend at Gubu Dam. Two beautiful brown trout of 49 and 55cm, and over a dozen rainbows between the two of them.

After all this wet weather, why not stretch your fly line at one of the AFFC waters. Maden and Mnyameni are a bit off-colour but Gubu is great.
