What an incredible start to our First Achieve Workshop this past weekend 🤩.
Hosted by Julie Warren-Codrington, our first session explored the powerful theme of Getting Things Done, a conversation centred on productivity, focus, and creating systems that help us perform at our best.
We were privileged to be joined by a highly accomplished Professional Engineer and Project Manager whose career spans some of South Africa's largest construction projects, valued at over ZAR 8 billion, as well as major international projects worth billions of US dollars. Beyond his impressive technical expertise and leadership experience, he shared his passion for the Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology and how it has transformed the way individuals and teams manage their work, priorities, and commitments.
Key takeaways included:
- Moving tasks and ideas out of your head and into a trusted system
- Reducing overwhelm by creating clarity around priorities
- Developing habits that support focus, discipline, and consistency
- Understanding that structure and systems can create freedom, not restriction
- Learning how high-performing professionals rely on trusted processes rather than memory alone.
The session was packed with practical insights, and actionable tools that attendees can immediately apply in both their professional and personal lives.
A huge thank you to our guest speaker for sharing his experience and wisdom, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging and meaningful conversation.
