The Heart of the Winelands Welcomes the World Back! ⛳🍷

Stellenbosch Golf Club is incredibly proud and honoured to once again host the 116th Investec South African Open Championship from 4-7 March 2027.

As one of the world's oldest and most prestigious national Opens, this championship represents far more than four days of world-class golf. It showcases the very best of South African golf, creates life-changing opportunities for our professionals, and delivers a meaningful legacy for our local community.

The success of the 2026 Investec South African Open demonstrated the incredible impact this tournament has both on and off the golf course, generating almost R300 million for the local economy, supporting hundreds of jobs, and placing Stellenbosch firmly in the global golfing spotlight.

We are especially proud that Stellenbosch Golf Club serves as a stage where dreams become reality. Casey Jarvis's victory in 2026 earned him entry into both The Open Championship and The Masters, highlighting the pathway this championship creates for South African golfers to compete on the world's biggest stages through the Strategic Alliance between the Sunshine Tour, DP World Tour and PGA TOUR.

For our members, hosting the Investec South African Open is a privilege. It is an opportunity to share our club, our town, and our renowned Winelands hospitality with golf fans, players, officials and visitors from around the globe. The championship not only elevates the profile of Stellenbosch Golf Club, but also shines a spotlight on the broader Stellenbosch community and everything that makes this region so special.

Hoe ouer hoe beter, is Deon se resep

Stellenbosch-klub se senior span het die afgelope paar jaar groot suksesse in die Boland-liga behaal en aan die spits van hierdie span is hul kaptein Deon Joubert.

Deon se innemende geaardheid maak hom ‘n baie gewilde spanlid, terwyl sy gholfstandaard altyd van ‘n hoë klas is.

Deon het as jongeling ‘n baie belowende en suksesvolle loopbaan as tennisspeler gehad, maar op 50-jarige ouderdom het hy besluit dat gholf vorentoe al sy aandag gaan geniet.

Our Winners 🎉

What a wonderful response we had to The Open Championship competition that ran on the club’s WhatsApp group.

Congratulations to our three winners, and a sincere thank you to everyone who took part and enjoyed the journey with me at Royal Birkdale.

It was great fun sharing a small piece of The Open experience with you, and I hope it brought a little bit of that special links atmosphere back home to Stellenbosch. ⛳

Stellenbosch Golf Club has made a welcome return as the Best 19th Hole Experience in South Africa for 2026, as recognised in the Golf Digest South Africa / SA Top 100 Courses rankings. 🎉

After being ranked No.1 in 2024 and narrowly losing that title last year, it is especially pleasing to see our Club back on top again – and quite fitting for a Cape Winelands venue that has always known how to turn a round of golf into a full experience.

The recognition speaks to more than just a good view, although our clubhouse deck overlooking the course and the surrounding mountains certainly does its part. It reflects the warmth of our members, the quality of service, the atmosphere after a round, the food and hospitality, and that special Stellenbosch feeling that visitors and regulars alike continue to enjoy. SA Top 100 Courses also notes the Club’s popularity with visiting golfers, our panoramic clubhouse setting, excellent kitchen, busy year-round activity, and the all-round value of the experience.

So, next time you are enjoying a cold one, a coffee, a meal, a laugh with your fourball, or simply watching the sun dip behind the mountains from the deck, take a moment to appreciate that our 19th hole is once again regarded as the best in the country.

There are few things more frustrating on a golf course than waiting on every shot, losing rhythm and watching a good round slowly lose its spark.
