Getaway in Stanford🚗 - After 4 months of season I got 2 days off and took a much needed break with . It has been rejuvenating and the boost I need to navigate the last 6 weeks of season.

Was good to meet up with having cocktails and charcuterie boards in the garden really allowed me to reminisce about home around the bon fire talking s**t and having a drink.

Thanks Gem for joining us was good to have company and thanks Meg for always willing to do spontaneous adventures. ❤️

Scott Melvin, Executive Chef at will be hosting our Chef's Table, a 5 course culinary experience paired with Arendskloof wines.

Chef Scott worked with Gordon Ramsay, as his sous chef at Maze Restaurants. He has opened restaurants for Jason Atherton. Do not miss out on such a delictable experience.

Today I got to meet actor and comedian and his lovely family. I had the privilege to host them for breakfast for father's day and most importantly Dr Moosa's birthday.

So I guess this comes as a bit of an introduction as I cannot believe I am already nearly set to complete my first month.

So far, I am loving every moment. I am the new Food & Beverage Manager/ Culinary Host at the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay.

So many new experiences, it's a beautiful hotel where I work with the team for The Bistro (Self Explanatory) , Sandy B (Champagne and Cocktail Bar with Pool Deck), Tides (Breakfasts, Banqueting and Experiences/Celebrations/Events), Pool Decks, and Caamil's (whiskey bar) - for those that know me well probably my favorite 😂🥃.

Anyways all good this end. is holding the fort❤️

The View Makes It All The Worth While❤️

It has been stressful, it has been tough but we have done it. It would not have been possible without the most amazing support group!

We have been here just over a week, and still a lot to do and a lot to adjust to.

It is not possible to thank everyone for all their assistance, but to note:

Mom thank you for being our land lady and confidant for 2 years and helping make this all possible I really appreciate it. You have been nothing short of incredible. ❤️

To Dad, thank you for your unconditional support I really appreciate it and it means a lot. ❤️

Seun, Brian and Sue thank you for all your support, and trusting in me.❤️

To other family and friends thank you for the messages and for keeping in touch you have all helped in your own way.❤️

Lasty to thank you so much for being with me through this adventure, our adventure. It means so much to me and there could not be anyone else that I would choose to do this with. Thank you for all that you do for me❤️

A German, A Kenyan, and three South Africans (and a Sarge giving a brown eye) walk into... well just walk.

In 2021 I walked the South African coastline from Mozambique to Namibia.

In 2022 I had the privilege to meet and host Carlo Luis Saio who walked from Uganda to South Africa

2023 and it just keeps getting better, as not only do I have the honour to meet Ylmaz Erd who has walked from the Cape heading to Cairo but we all got to do a little walking together.

Good to pull out my Gregory Packs SA and put it to good use again. What an incredible pack, one used by keen adventurers and expeditioners.

My Garmin went from being just a watch to being used for its many other purposes.

Lisa Honneysett-Filer thank you once again for allowing me to host all these strangers😂😂. I must say the food has been amazing.

t party thank you for hosting us, your spot it beautiful, tranquil and you are just amazing.

Picklepot Café is a definite must stop in the Midlands.

What a way to finish off Cape Town and our Western Cape Holiday by celebrating two years of existing in each other's company romantically, learning from each other and making every moment a memory. Although a dinner at & Vine was probably setting the mark pretty damn high for the future, so we will just have to come back.

Really, what a unique and incredible experience! It is a flavour experience like no other. It was exceptional and few words can describe the experience in its entirety. Ibraham, Elvis, Thabang, Lisa, Gary, and the Kitchen Bigrade you really made the night exceptional. From the food, to the plates, to the interior design, the ambience, and the incredible staff, it was amazing!

Visiting De Grendel Wine and Restaurant is an absolute experience! It is a must while in Capetown.

The wines are superb and the food is incredible. We had the privilege to meet again with Charles and Jana and receive incredible service by Simeon and Caitlin. All of whom make the experience that much more personal and leave you wanting to come back.

please pass on my thanks and appreciation once again to Simeon and Caitlin. Especially Caitlin who asked the occasion of the lunch and surprised us with an additional plate.

After our lunch we headed to HintHunt Africa to attempt the old hotel escape room. With a 33% success rate Meg and I managed to finish the room with just 6 minutes to spare. The staff are incredible and our host was amazing. Definitely worth it.

Yesterday morning we took a drive to Fairview Wine and Cheese . While on the walk I was offered a complementary tasting which I really enjoyed. had been when she was a child and so it seemed fitting for both of us to go back. When researching we found that you could do a 5-8km walk with farmer Donald and enjoy a wine and cheese tasting afterwards and so that seemed like an experience we would both enjoy.

Farmer Donald took us for the walk through the Paarl mountains where we saw Paarl rock and the Taal monuments. Thank you to Farmer Donald for taking us on the walk and for showing us and imparting your knowledge on wine farming and Fairview. Thank you to Tammy for hosting our wine tasting and all the fun you brought to the experience. If anyone is in the area definitely try their deli section the cheese and baked items are amazing, would highly recommend the bread pretzels!

To end a lovely day we stopped at De Villiers Chocolate to buy some gifts for everyone back home and enjoyed a lunch at La Grapperia for some really great pizza's.
