Cape St Francis Angling Club Angling Club was Founded in 1952, Still Going Strong. Second Most points trophy was introduced. Lighthouse Keepers would be excluded from this trophy. R40-00.

Founded in 1952 at a meeting at Royal Hotel, Humansdorp (Bottle Store and Shoprite area)

Lily Haskings, Gert van Zyl, James Melville, Martin Meyer – ordinary members. August 1957 Letter complaining that the Men’s Most points were won by the Cape St Francis Lighthouse Keepers every year. S

eptember 1957 Decided to design a club badge. January 1958 P. Potgieter chosen to go to Nova Scotia for Tuna Tournament. H Dev Melville chosen to cast for E.P in Pretoria. Lapel badges made by Metal Art @ 75c each. August 1958 Club Subs increased to R1.50 for men and 75c for Ladies and Juniors. September 1959 Angling Week tickets 50c for members and 75c for non members. October 1959 Prize giving cost Β£20 i.e. Ways and means of getting members to attend meetings and club
competitions discussed. September 1960 Bait Control regulations were enacted. Badge changed to insert a door and 3 windows in the lighthouse. November 1961 Christmas Hamper raffle for funds @ 10c tickets

May 1962 Cotton Trophy won by club for first time. August 1962 H Dev Melville became secretary
Application to Divisional Council for key to Kabeljouws beach.

1963 Angling Week won by club for first time.

1966 Tankards introduced – cost R7.95 and R2.00 for engraving.

1971 Casting became part of club activities.

1972 First members were granted E.P Casting colours under new section.

1974 Veterans Trophies donated for members over 55 years. Club tracksuits available for first time.

1978 Top Ten Awards for first time. Membership down since beaches closed.

Cape St Francis Angling Club's annual fundraiser function is happening on the 13th of December 2025. This exciting action packed day starts off with a Rock and Surf Angling Competition. The weigh in and prize giving will take place the Jeffreys Bay Golf Club. There will also be a casting competition, auction, and numerous lucky draw prizes. This day is always packed with great fun and numerous fish. Tickets are now on sale at Angling and Marine Connection in Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay.

4 Ball Alliance 2 Scores to Count - Scramble Drive.

Entry will be R675 for all non Links members - Including a Golf Cart and a light braai meal afterwards.
We will have some fun activities on the golf course to enjoy.

We will be having *live entertainment* 🎀🎼 at the Prize Giving as well as a shootout 🎯with some great prizes up for grabs.

Raffles and Auction items will be up for grabs afterwards! So please stick around!

The Kouga Mayors Cup Angling event took place on Saturday 3rd of May 2025. Once again we were honoured and privileged to be part of this event. The annual Angling Event was hosted by Cape St Francis Angling Club (CSF). The competition was held between Cape St Francis Angling Club and Jeffreys Bay Angling Club (JBAC). The floating trophy for the winning team was won by Cape St Francis Angling Club.

Cape St Francis Angling Club had an edible club competition on Saturday the 1st of March. Although the water temperature was ice cold, there were a few outstanding catches. Notably amongst other edibles there was a Kob of 25.7kgs caught by Theo Herbst and another one of 19.3kgs caught by Shaun Cavanaugh. All fish caught were released and returned safely back into the sea. After the days angling we enjoyed cheese grillers and good company in the Kabeljauws carpark.
