I was born in Santiago of Chile in 1981 where I had an early nature call. I remember my father used to say: β"Before you could speak a word you could identify the animals named". So for the years to come the zoo was far the most exciting place to visit in town (not because they kept the poor animals encaged but for giving me the chance to get close to them). I remember interacting with most of the
animals as possible by imitating their sounds and acting different than a human does. Among my achievements was to chase the kangaroos in their enclosure, to give affection to the hippopotamus in its enclosure and grab the tail of the lion but outside its enclosure :DI also grew up surrounded by dogs so I learnt animal communication in general but I did specialise in dog behaviour. I would always communicate nicely with my friend's dogs and with other dogs as a visitor in other homes. As soon as I became independent I started backpacking around with an internal desire of exploring the whole world. Today after seventeen countries and a dozen years of nomadic adventures, Africa undoubtedly has become a unique experience and a dream made true. While living in Gansbaai I learnt about conservation, volunteering and the shark tourism industry. Then I had the opportunity of joining the team in the Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique where I met Carlos Pereira. I have travelled Kenya, Botswana and Namibia as well where I left good friends and happy doggie customers. But being honest, nothing would compare to South Africa where I feel an enchanting attraction to stay!* Iβm not the one who considers himself an outsider or invader in the natural world, but the one who interacts with every creature, that thanks to the divine synchronicity of life, does crosses my path. I have groomed a great white shark, caught a Puff-adder with my bare hands and chased baboons around. I just love to interact with every creature, I canβt help it.What is to be a Dog Whisperer then?Is all about to have an enchanting attitude. A special touch, unique sounds and an attractive personality that should be good enough as to impress. You can not speak dog language but you can certainly communicate with them using your energy, body postures, sounds and canid language mixed with human creativity placing yourself with this in an interesting position in the hierarchy.Gift? Qualifications?Naturally in order to learn about something we must experience it, see it, hear or read about it. As true seeker and explorer I have always done my own research but I think that it is important to realise that via the connection that you have with this planet and the creatures that live within it, the sensitivity and balance will appear in order to create the change needed. Another story is to be charming (in the possible) and have the patience to deal with humans. No corporation or institution has taught or imposed their terms in my knowledge throughout their education system nor I have bought any of their available tittles. I believe it is about connection & creation instead of following otherβs procedures. For me the best qualification comes from a satisfied customer ;)Our problem. We as humans sometimes forget that we are sharing our space with territorial animals and we tend to ignore important tasks to their eyes like to patrol our premises for example. Some people wish to give them a happy humanised life: mounts of treats, affection/attention and other guarantees without the establishment of boundaries and many times without exposing their animal to a proper socialisation unbalancing them as a result. So eventually they develop unpleasant behaviours like anxiety, stubbornly and aggression for example. Sometimes we donβt communicate properly with them or don't understand them. Sometimes we simply donβt teach them how we want them to behave.I do teach my clients how to become a successful pack leader balancing their territoriality and dominance with the guarantees and positive reinforcement resulting all this in a training guaranteed to turn them into impressive masters to follow. My other passions:ZoologyCryptozoologyAstroarchaeologyAncient CivilizationsIn order to book a session you can reach me at +27820500470 or at my email: [email protected] or via Facebook. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you!Kind Regards.Jorge
