So, you want to get yourself and your bump moving but aren't sure what is safe (and unsafe) to do while pregnant? I've briefly outlined some exercise do's and don'ts to help you on your way πŸ™‚

πƒπŽ πˆπ“:

Strengh training

Indoor cycling

Walking

Swimming

Low-impact aerobic training

Yoga and pilates

πƒπŽπ'𝐓 πƒπŽ πˆπ“:

Contact sport: wrestling, rugby, soccer, etc.

Hot yoga

High injury sports where it's easy to fall: Horseback riding, skiing, rollerblading, fast outdoor/mountain cycling🚡

Remember, during pregnancy you have a higher chance of losing your balance - keep this in mind when deciding on an exercise and always take it slow. The safety of your baby should come first, so stay away from sports and exercises where you could easily, fall, get struck, or injured. P.s...don't forget to consult your doctor before starting to train.

These are the 3 main reasons why working with a specialised trainer while pregnant is vital.

As an Exercise Specialist, I can train anyone, however, I specialise in pre/post-natal pregnancy, children, and the elderly.
These 3 groups of people have very different body types to the average person and they all need special attention and proper care when it comes to exercise.

During pregnancy, your body is changing every day, and having a trainer who understands the changes is very important for the well-being of you and your bubs.

A morning routine is vital for starting your day off on the right foot. When we start the morning by rushing around or hitting the snooze button, we automatically start the day unorganised and in a rushed state of mind.

We all live different lives so no one routine will be right for everyone, but it's important to make the changes that suit you and your lifestyle.

So, a new year has started and you want to begin your fitness journey but are wondering what it's gonna take?

πŸ’₯First things first, An open mind (and a strong one). Exercise is both a physical & mental challenge, and there are going to be times where you want to give up, but this is where the mental strength needs to happen. It's all in the mind and you need to be strong to push through and achieve those goals.

πŸ’₯Clear And Realistic Goals
It's not enough to say you want to get fit. Rather ask yourself how many kg's do you want to lose? How many reps of an exercise do you want to be able to do? How many km's do you want to be able to run? Get clear on your goals so you are more inclined to achieve them.

πŸ’₯Support
It can be a tough road and sometimes having someone cheer you on makes all the difference. Get a friend to join you, tell your family what you're working towards and how they can help you, join a local fitness group or online forum.

πŸ’₯Knowledge
Do.your.research.!! What kind of training are you choosing to do - do you know the proper technique and form for each exercise? Research it all, and if you can, get a personal trainer to show you the ropes and help you understand and train your body in the most effective (and safest) way possible.
