Sardines...Sardines and more Sardines!!

The Sardine run has kicked off in the craziest possible way this year.

And in the strangest starting point.

For the 1st time this fishy phenomenon has been spotted up river.

Millions of Sardines have been spotted and thousands already netted at Durbans Blue Lagoon.
And millions more have been found far upstream.

At First the anglers who spotted this phenomenon were dumbfounded but soon Scientists from Fisheries, and Forestries First and Provinsional Regulations- FFFAPR, were called in and this has led to the theory that Sardines actually breed in estuaries and the Umgeni happens to be their major breeding ground this season.

FFFAPR spokesperson Dr Ono Caper, has said this is a very exciting development and hopes to give us more info by the end of the day.
