Sasolburg Krieket Klub

Sasolburg Krieket Klub The Sasolburg Krieket Klub is an outdoor cricket club and plays in the Sedibeng Cricket Council Leagues. Seasons runs from October to April of the next year.

The Club has been in existence since the 1960's. The outdoor cricket seasons in the Vaal Triangle usually starts in October and ends in April the following year. The Sasolburg Cricket Club has been in operation since the 1960's. Since 2016 the home ground of the Club has been at the DP de Villiers Sports Stadium in Sasolburg.

Sasol won the toss an elected to bat first against Meyerton.Sasol got off to a decent start at 53/2 after 10 overs.Good batting by Chris Genis with 52 runs of 77 balls and Michael Mackie with 33 runs off 36 balls on a difficult batting strip helped Sasolburg to reach a target off 205/9 after 35 overs completed.Meyerton needed to bat at a 5.85 run rate to the over.Barend Swanepoel struck with a first wicket getting Gerhard Blomme caught by PJ Joint on gully in the sixth over.Game still evenly balanced after 10 overs with Meyerton on 54/1.Some good bowling by Danillo vd westhuizen finishing with an opening spell of 6 overs 27/0 and Barend Swanepoel with 7 overs 32/2.Best bowling figures for Sasolburg was Michael Mackie with 5 overs for 22/3.Exellent fielding display from Christiaan Pretorius contributing with a run out and a catch taken only seen on Television 😂 at deep mid wicket superb.This led to the last over to be bowled with Meyerton needing just 7 runs for the win.Some pressure was put on the shoulders of the youngster in the team Danillo vd Westhuizen which he managed exceptionally well by conceding just 4 runs giving Sasolburg a win by 3 runs. Meyerton finishing on 202/8 well done to the Sasol boys 👏👏👏
