Alexandra Gunners FC is deeply saddened by the passing of Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder and “space maker” Jayden Adams.

As a club that works closely with young boys and continues to shine a light on men’s mental health awareness, this loss feels especially personal to us. Our boys are only about 7 to 10 years younger than Jayden, and it reminds us how close these struggles can be to home.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, teammates, and everyone whose lives he touched. South African football has lost a remarkable talent far too soon.

This heartbreaking loss is also a reminder to keep checking in on one another, to speak up, and to never underestimate the silent battles people may be facing. Mental health matters, and compassion can make a difference.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
