95% of people think they’re self-aware, but research suggests only 10 - 15% actually are. 👀
Self-awareness is the first and most important pillar of Emotional Intelligence. It goes way beyond knowing that you’re ‘stressed’ or ‘happy.’

It means understanding:
→ What you feel and why
→ How your emotions influence your thinking
→ How your behaviour lands on others
→ What your values and motivators really are

This is the starting point of becoming a better leader, a better partner, a better parent.
When last did you truly stop and ask yourself: how am I really doing? 💛

10 candles for you today, our darling Bekah! 💜
What a joy you are to us. Always grabbing an opportunity to read a page or two (even when it embarrasses your brother 😅) and everyone else’s biggest cheerleader. Happy birthday! 🌸

90% of top performers have high Emotional Intelligence. 📊
That’s not a motivational quote, that’s research, and it has a direct implication for how we develop leaders.
Technical skills get people promoted, but EQ is what keeps them and their teams thriving.

So here’s the question: is EQ something that’s being actively developed in your organisation? Or is it being left to chance?
If it’s the latter, that’s where I come in. 💛

Let’s bust a myth 🚫
Emotional Intelligence is NOT about being touchy-feely, oversensitive, or overly accommodating.
EQ is about being INTENTIONAL. It’s about self-awareness, self-regulation and being able to influence the people around you from a place of understanding, not reaction.
The most emotionally intelligent leaders I know are also the most decisive, the most focused and the most respected. Not despite their EQ , but because of it.

Let’s set the record straight 📋
There are a lot of misconceptions floating around about what Emotional Intelligence actually is and some of them are keeping really capable leaders from investing in it.
Swipe through to bust the 4 biggest EQ myths 👉
Let me know in the comments which one surprised you most.
Because EQ is not what you think it is. It’s bigger, more practical and more learnable than most people realise.

Here’s a common misconception about Emotional Intelligence: it’s often reduced to empathy. The idea that EQ just means being kind, being in tune with others, being ‘soft.’
But the truth? EQ starts with SELF.
Self-awareness first: understanding what you feel, why you feel it and what that does to your behaviour.
Self-regulation second: learning to pause before you react, to lead from your values, not your mood.
Only once we’ve done that inner work can we genuinely empathise with others. Only then can we build the kind of relationships that make teams and families thrive.
This is the work and it’s worth it. 💛

Most people think EQ is just one thing, but it’s actually four. 🧩
Emotional Intelligence is made up of four interconnected components and the order matters. It starts with SELF: awareness and regulation. Only then can we move outward to OTHERS: empathy and relationship management. You can’t shortcut the inner work.
Swipe through to meet all four components of EQ and then tell me in the comments: which one do YOU need to work on most this year?
👇 Comment with the number below: 1 (Self-Awareness) / 2 (Self-Regulation) / 3 (Empathy) / 4 (Relationship Management)

Emotional intelligence isn’t just one thing you either have or you don’t.
It’s a set of skills and like any skill, it can be learned, practised and grown.

Over the next few months, I’m going to be unpacking EQ in a way that I hope will genuinely change how you see yourself and the way you show up in your world.

Because here’s what I know to be true: the emotional intelligence you’ve been developing as a mom is real, and it’s powerful. But most of us have never been shown how to name it, build on it, or intentionally apply it.

That’s what we’re going to do together.

Whether it’s leading your team at work, navigating a hard conversation with your partner, showing up for your kids on the days you have nothing left or simply managing the mental load of it all, EQ is the thread that runs through all of it.
This isn’t theory, it’s practical.

So if you’ve ever felt like you’re reacting instead of responding, stretched instead of steady or just not sure how to lead well in all the spaces you find yourself in, you’re exactly who this is for.

Let’s unpack this together. 💛

The words we use shape how we experience what we’re going through.
We generally can’t control things, but we can manage them.
And that one word makes such a difference.
Control keeps you in a spiral: anxious, grasping and exhausted. It sets you up to feel like you’ve failed before you’ve even started.
Management gives you something to work with. It puts you back in the driver’s seat with ownership, intention, and agency.
So next time you find yourself trying to control a situation, a person or an outcome, try asking instead: How can I manage this?
✅ for myself
✅ for the others involved
✅ now, and beyond this moment
Shift happens when we change the words we use. 💛
Save this for the next time you feel the spiral coming on.
