A bunch of likeminded individuals who like to keep fit and exercise by means of running and walking ๐โโ๏ธ We are a registered running/walking club affiliated with Athletics South Africa (ASA)! Join as part of a community dedicated to improve our health & fitness (and social lives). From walking, running, time trials and clubruns, we're united in our passion for athleticism and inclusivity. Seize t
he opportunity to connect with new individuals, forge friendships, and seek guidance from fellow runners or walkers about starting a training journey. Meet people across various fitness levels, find an exercise buddy, and participate in official races, fun runs/walks, and weekly time trials. Experience the camaraderie that comes with being a part of an ASA-recognised club! Let's hit the pavement, or in Sabieโs case a lot of mountains, and start getting active.
2. Joining the Sabie Shufflers doesn't require you to be a runner; walkers are more than welcome!
3. What if I am not fit? No need to be in top shape to become a member; we welcome individuals of all fitness levels! The more, the merrier!
4. What type of activities does Sabie Shufflers offer? Every Wednesday, we'll host a weekly time trial, and informal club runs will take place on Saturdays. These sessions aim to inspire each other to prioritize our health. We understand busy schedules, and attendance is entirely optionalโno pressure to be there every time.
5. What is a time trial? A time trial is a timed event where individuals cover a specific distance as quickly as possible. Participants start together, and their times are recorded, providing a measure of their personal performance and progress. It is not a competition to see who is the best club member! Time trials are often used for self-assessment, training purposes, or as part of organized events to get club members and non-members to interact and meet each other.
6. Do I have to pay to join? There is no fee for joining, but being a nonprofit club relying on volunteer committee members, we require funds to kickstart the club. Being a member provides you with exclusive insights, going beyond just relying on social media updates. Our goal is to organize fun runs as a means of fundraising, along with other events to generate funds for the club.

8. What is an ASA license? The ASA (Athletics South Africa) license is a license that is required for athletes who want to participate in officially sanctioned athletics events in South Africa. This license serves as proof that the athlete is registered with Athletics South Africa and is eligible to compete in the specific event.
9. If I am a member am I expected to be on duty for the club? You're not obligated to be on duty for the club; however, we welcome volunteers to assist. Keep in mind, our primary focus is on running, walking, exercising, and coming together for enjoyment and friendships โ it's not a competitive environment.
10. Do you offer professional fitness and training programs with a certified trainer? No, we do not provide such services. We are a group of like-minded volunteers who share a passion for running and walking.
