RUSTENBURG CHESS CLUB PROUDLY EXTENDS ITS RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR PLAYERS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE SAJCCC, THE LARGEST JUNIOR CHESS TOURNAMENT IN SOUTH AFRICA. YOUR DEDICATION, DISCIPLINE, AND PASSION FOR THE GAME WERE EVIDENT THROUGHOUT THE COMPETITION, AND YOU HAVE REPRESENTED THE CLUB WITH GREAT PRIDE.
WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFER SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS TO MATTHEW RETIEF, WHO ACHIEVED AN OUTSTANDING 5TH PLACE FINISH, AND LEVI BOTES, WHO SECURED AN EXCEPTIONAL 2ND PLACE. THEIR REMARKABLE PERFORMANCES HAVE EARNED THEM QUALIFICATION TO REPRESENT SOUTH AFRICA ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE.
MATTHEW AND LEVI WILL GO ON TO COMPETE IN PRESTIGIOUS EVENTS INCLUDING THE AFRICA YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN UGANDA, THE COMMONWEALTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP, THE FIDE WORLD CADETS CUP, AND THE FIDE WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT AND A TESTAMENT TO THEIR HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT.
WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD OF ALL OUR PLAYERS AND WISH MATTHEW AND LEVI THE VERY BEST AS THEY TAKE ON THE WORLD.
