*2022 - 2023 LETTER FROM THE COACH*

I would like to extend my warm gratitude to you all and yes congratulations for making it to this new season which is already smelling blessings..

Indeed 2022 was a successful year for us as the Kloofview Chess Club and irregardless of us being first timers we experienced and brought very good performances through tournaments and the national respectively in our previous tourney the *SOUTH AFRICAN JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS* (SAJCC) we managed to deliver a very mouth watering performance even though it was our first time with our kloofview kids, we fought a very good fight which lead to very good victories and with that we managed to get a final podium finish on our under 14&12 teams followed by the under 10s , and with that our players qualified and made It for the South African Closed championships to be held soon in April followed by the *COMMON WEALTH GAMES* in july

We performed very well and in this year we are looking forward to take more of our teams to National level and International respectively, our target this year is to get all the players we have been with last year and this year to perform at higher heights and with your unwavering support and commitment we are going to see it to fruition,

Our theme for this year shall be *INTERNATIONAL CHESS* as we get to take those already qualified players to international level and our other players to national level, and indeed it's going to be a year of wins to us and at a much better level KLOOFVIEW Chess will be shining more this year.

_TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE_ β™ŸοΈ

Yours in Chess,

Coach Owen
