Welcome "Bhodloza" Nzimande
20 October 1947 - 15 January 2021
School Teacher, Radio & Television Presenter & Ukhozi FM Station Manager.

Welcome Nzimande was born in Ephatheni, Richmond in Kwazulu-Natal.A school teacher by profession, he joined "Ukhozi Fm" in 1978 just eighteen years after it was founded.For 19 years he was behind the mic playing maskandi music.Nzimande's passion and dedication to maskandi music genre was evident when he presented a maskandi television show called "Ezodumo" with Legendary Lesedi FM personality Ntate Thuso Motaung.He became Ukhozi FM station manager in 1997, a role he performed for 13 years.He was instrumental in promoting peace during political violence in Kwazulu-Natal.He co-founded the "South African Traditional Music Association" with the late "Ladysmith Black Mambazo" Lead Singer "Joseph Shabalala", an initiative that paved way for the launch of the "Satma Awards" in 2005.He passed away on Friday ( 15 January 2021 ).May his soul continue to rest in peace.🕊️

It was one of the wishes of the late Dr Welcome "Bhodloza" Nzimande to honour Mzwakhe Mbuli aka "The people's Poet" for his relentless contribution of transitioning South Africa from Apartheid Era to Democratic Era.

His audacity of facing the regime of that time was like that of a lion. Hence Bhodloza's Legacy honored him with a Male Lion Skin (Pathera Leo)🦁 AMBRUUU
