Our FrogMasters took on SA Champs in George earlier in March. Leanne Kleiner finished top 5 in her pool events - top 6 in the 1km open water swim. Heather Tiltmann finished top 5 in her pool events and top 6 in the 3km open water swim. Gideon Bruckner earned himself 2 bronze medals one in the 800 free and one in the 3km open water swim. Coach Wendy was only able to compete in the 3km open water swim this time due to her busy schedule and finished second in the 3km open water swim. We are excited for next year’s national event which takes place in Cape Town. 🐸

Young South African Shines at World Championships

Ronewa Myeza from Froggies Aquatics accompanied by his dad Sabelo Myeza who also took part in the event, delivered an outstanding performance at the UIPM Biathle–Triathle and Laser Run World Championships, held in Mossel Bay in December 2025. The event was historic, marking the first time all three disciplines were combined into one global championship, attracting over 1,600 athletes from 34 countries.

Competing Under-15 age group, and as a second-time World Championship participant, Ronewa showed remarkable determination by qualifying for the finals in all three disciplines β€” Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run.

His final results were impressive: 15th place in Triathle, 24th in Laser Run, and 26th in Biathle, achieved under challenging conditions at Santos Beach, including rough seas and demanding beach runs.

Adding to the milestone, Ronewa also received his South African colours during the championships, a proud moment for him and his family. He has his sights set on representing South Africa again at the upcoming World Championships in Madeira, Portugal, later this year and will need to qualify at the league and SA champs events.

We are elated for Roro, he is such a versatile, adaptable athlete and we are so blessed as a club to share this journey with him and support him every step of the way.
