We value the care and expertise of Picture Hanging Services each time we work with their teams - a little while ago, Keith, Boas and Daniel met the challenge of moving a work from a 45-degree gradient of stairway and installing another: a complicated hanging.

They’re also masters at suggesting options and methods to hang works of art safely in tricky places.

Thank you PHS Art Crew!

A new work now welcomes guests to the Tokara Tasting Lounge.

We're delighted to unveil *Backstage*, a striking tapestry by celebrated South African artist Sam Nhlengethwa. Inspired by the world of jazz and music, its bold monochromatic composition brings a quiet sense of rhythm and movement to the Tasting Lounge.

Its arrival couldn't be more fitting, complementing our current exhibition, Compositions and All That Jazz, in the Tokara Art Gallery, which also features works by Sam Nhlengethwa alongside a collection of artists exploring the relationship between music and visual art.

Whether you're joining us for a wine tasting, visiting the gallery or simply taking time to enjoy the estate, we invite you to discover this beautiful new addition.

Art has always formed part of the landscape at Tokara - quietly woven between vineyard, mountain, architecture and experience.

Among the works found across the estate are sculptures by Willem Strydom, whose bronze and marble creations bring a powerful sense of movement, mythology and stillness to their surroundings. From "Water From an Ancient Well II", "Plant Colector’s Daughter" to "Lioness Dancing for Lotar" and "Gariep", each piece invites a moment of pause and reflection.

Inside the Tasting Lounge, his tapestry Bee Eater, displayed alongside the original watercolour, offers another layer to the story - one of texture, detail and the relationship between art and nature.

At Tokara, art is not separate from the experience of the estate - it becomes part of the journey through it.
