Motherhood changed me in ways I never could have understood before I held my baby for the first time, because while everyone could see the child being born, very few people noticed that I was becoming someone completely new too. I was still me in so many ways, but there was suddenly this deeper softness, fear, strength, exhaustion, and love living inside me all at once. Some days I barely recognized myself through the sleepless nights, emotional changes, and overwhelming responsibility, and yet this new version of me kept showing up anyway. Becoming a mother is beautiful, but it’s also such a tender transformation that deserves patience, grace, and care too. Sometimes mothers spend so much time nurturing everyone else that we forget we need nurturing ourselves as well 🤍

Witnessed my first birth today in government hospital as a doula in training.

The experience has left me feeling grounded and thankful for the blessed birth I experienced as I birthed Basil. 🌿

The experience has left me feeling very blessed and lots to be grateful for. I also feel grateful to have a small emotional impact on a birthing mom in such a vulnerable position.

I feel like I have gained more knowledge into practices of the medical industry and how they do it.

This weekend I completed a Yoga Nidrā course with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli which is set on creating and deepening my Nidrā practices. Look forward to holding this space on Thursday night online and choosing the theme of the New Moon 🌑

We often compromise our children's boundaries because we are afraid of being the uncomfortable person in the room. We let things slide, we ignore the noise, and we allow the outside world to dictate the pace of their childhood just to keep the peace with other adults.

But true authority requires you to be entirely okay with standing alone.

Being your child’s advocate isn’t a loud, aggressive fight. It is a quiet, immovable decision. It means understanding that you are the final filter between a chaotic world and a developing nervous system. If you choose to look the other way to avoid friction, you aren't being easygoing — you are leaving the perimeter completely unguarded.

When the stakes are their safety and their innocence, there is no middle ground. You either stand in the gap and absorb the discomfort of being "that parent," or you allow the world to rush in and shape them by default.

Don't apologize for holding the line. If you don't do it, nobody else will. ❤️
