It was a tale of two very different rides this weekend.

Piet made the last-minute call to line up at the King Price Race to the Sea and turned it into a solid training ride. Riding his PYGA Mobu Gen2 with gravel tyres, he enjoyed a sunny and dry day out (besides a deep river crossing 😅😅) on the bike and a good 153km of fast-rolling gravel through the Overberg.

A big shoutout to our team sponsor King Price Insurance, who also put on a proper recovery zone at the finish! Always good to see our sponsors putting back into the sport and looking after the riders. 👌

Meanwhile, Phil headed to Cradle Moon for the Magalies Rocks the Cradle. A very different day out with wet and muddy conditions! Despite tired legs after a leading the Exarro training camp the week before he still managed to put together a strong ride and finish 2nd 🥈

Next up is the final Ford Trailseeker for the season in Wellington 🚵‍♂️

MICHAEL FOSTER – UPDATE

Many of you have been asking about Michael following the accident on Wednesday afternoon and we wanted to share a short update from his family.

While out training on his bicycle, Michael was involved in a head-on collision with a motorbike. He sustained serious injuries, including fractures to both knees and his arm, as well as multiple facial fractures.

Michael is currently sedated and being cared for in ICU. He has already undergone surgery to clean and treat his open wounds, with further surgeries to repair his fractures expected over the coming days and weeks.

His family has been warned that this will be a long process but they remain incredibly grateful for the care he has received so far and for the support surrounding him.

We would like to thank everyone who has reached out, sent messages, offered support and most importantly kept Michael and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

For now Michael has a long road ahead of him. We ask that everyone continues to give him and his family the space and support they need as he begins this journey.

Keep fighting, Mike. We are all behind you. ❤️

Mike is in Val di Sole and it’s UCI MTB World Champs race week!! 🏆

“First time at Val Di Sole and it seems like a cool place, very similar to the other XCO venues. I really enjoy the track, climbs are steep and hard and the descents are quite long and really allow for good recovery. There’s one rooty section, it’s quite tough because the rain made the roots slippery.”
