Daspoort Social Table Tennis Social table tennis open for everyone to play every Wednesday night for only R50pp and R30 for ladies and juniors(under 18) The entry fee is R20 per player.

The focus of our weekly events is on fun, social grassroots development. It doesn't matter if you've only ever played at a holiday resort or on a church camp... we cater for all levels! Come enjoy a fun night out with your bestie, or come meet others in a fun, relaxed and well-organised environment. Registration for our table tennis events start at 18:30, for fixturing and start by 19:00 latest. O

ur tournaments consist of a qualifier round (when applicable), after which the participants are split into different divisions of up to 8 players per division. Knockout rounds follow, with playoffs for 3rd, 5th and 7th position in all divisions. This means that nobody gets knocked out early, and everyone plays more or less the same number of games against different opponents. The winners of all divisions get a free entry into only the next week's event. Rankings points are awarded and published weekly. There is no special dress code... come the way you feel comfortable. NO SUPERSTARS WARNING: Because of the SOCIAL status of these events, no provincial or regional league players are allowed to enter. Come give it a bash! You won't be sorry you did!

Because of this lockdown and coronavirus pandemic we have decided to rather stop the table tennis until further notice, we hope that it clears quickly and that everyone will be save, keep on washing your hands and try to keep your distance and we will see each other again on the table tennis tables at Grizzlies in n few weeks.

Last week we had Jannie and Danie (father and son) in the final, what a great match that was and in the bucket challenge Christo was the winner of the 2x water park tickets and what fun we had there with the bucket challenge

Don't miss out on tonights table tennis at Grizzlies and remember to keep to a minimum, no hand shakes and hugs and lets not sit in groups while waiting for to play, and most important lets enjoy the table tennis 😁

Tables will be up and ready at 18:30 for the early warmups, and we will start at 19:30

Okay so Grizzlies stopped all their sport because of the corona virus, but said that we can stil come and play table tennis on Wednesdays, lets keep in mind what Chris also said in the other groups:

👋 *No handshakes, high fives, hugs or kisses.* If you want to congratulate or greet or wish someone well, do it with a *fist bump.* 👊
👀 Let's avoid *spectating in the halls.* Let's rather gather *outside in the fresh air* between matches.
🤲 Add to these the obvious things like *washing hands* regularly and *not touching your face,* and we should be good, right?
🤧 Oh, and obviously, if you feel under the weather, rather *stay at home?* Thanks!

Come to think of it, these are actually *good principles* to apply at all times - *even when there isn't a novel coronavirus doing the rounds.* Right?!

Its WEDNESDAY 😁 who's ready for table tennis tonight? And don't worry about load-shedding as it wont affect Grizzlies.

I want to give everyone a fair chance to win the tickets to the waterpark so tonight it will be the winner of the BUCKET challenge that will walk away with 2x tickets to the waterpark.

Jannie won the waterpark tickets as he was the social winner of the night

Next week we will do it different, the 2x waterpark tickets will be won with the BUCKET CHALLENGE so that means that it could be anyone that has a good hand to bounce the ball into the bucket, so don't miss out on that chance next week Wednesday

A fight between Altus and Danie last week ended with 3-2 to Danie taking first place and as i said that the top social player will win the 2x tickets to the water park and that was Altus (was level 18) that won the 2x tickets, well done

What a night it was Wednesday last week with Danie taking another win against Fanus in the final and walking away with 2x waterpark tickets

Tonight at Grizzlies we will have another 2x tickets to the Grizzlies water park to be won and i want the winner in the 👉social👈 devision to take the tickets, so i need all the social players to show up tonight and the winner will walk away with 2x tickets to the waterpark 😁

There will be a prize for the premier devision also so don't miss out on tonights table tennis and the tables will be ready at 18:30 for warmups before we start at 19:30

In the social devision it was Danie fighting his way to the final with a handicap against him and so he also took first place

Come and join us tonight for more table tennis action at Grizzlies and bring a friend with to get some discount and make the turnout larger, tables will be ready for warm up at 18:30 and we will start at 19:30, see you there 🏓
