5 Reasons To Put Your Preschooler in Ballet:
1. Self regulation • Ballet is one of the most effective ways to teach children self regulation. It engages their brains, builds proprioception, and develops their motor skills, which are ALL a huge part of their ability to self regulate.
2. Improves Listening Skills • Ballet requires following directions, improving listening skills, agency, and learning. It also helps develop the child’s neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s lifelong capacity to reorganize its structure, functions, and connections in response to learning.
3. Social Skills • Ballet teaches good manners and develops their skills of working together and communication. It teaches them to leave room for their friends, as well as share, accept, and challenge ideas.
4. Improves communication • Ballet is a great way to teach children how to communicate what they feel in their bodies when they move, which develops their mind-body connection. It also improves their ability to express their emotions and feelings in a positive manner.
5. Ballet is fun! • At preschool age, the goal is to develop motor skills in a fun and exciting way. Creatively we use stories to help paint pictures of what our movements express. We also learn about ballet history, vocabulary, costumes, and more!
