FIRST: Balancing your stress bucket. A weak immune system is the reason that virus or whatever is going around is affecting you but somehow not affecting your partner, family or co-workers despite being exposed to the same environments. That means pulling back on some of those stressors when the body is asking. Not drinking, sleeping more, adding plenty of colourful and fibrefull foods to feed your microbiome (since most of your immune system exists within the gut) and even pulling back on hormetic stressors like exercise.
OKAY the deets:
Daily:
Elixir (my version of a multi-vitamin), Natural Elixir anti-inflammatory whole food diet, prioritising sleep, meditation, movement, hydration.
Often:
Neti Pot: “Noses are for breathing, mouths are for eating
First signs of sickness:
Vitamin C Powder (I try to find ones from Dis-Chem with as little sweetners and other thangs as possible)
Turmeric Latte: Anti-inflammatory power = Turmeric & cinnamon powder with honey, warm milk, a grind of black pepper and cayenne pepper (don’t be scared it’s actually really yum but go easy on the cayenne pepper, just a pinch is plenty). All available at any Dis-Chem Foods
It’s coming in hot:
WITCHES BREW TEA: Raw honey, echina, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, elderflower, olive leaf, artemisia,
Tulsi (Holy Basil): Antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral
Echiniaforce: 20 drops 1 - 4x a day
ALL that to say, use what works for you boo! Ali just does not have the office space to do a mid day yoga nidra and will go to gym until he is full blown sick so he’ll have all of the above AND have Linctagon :P
Different strokes and these are mine when sickness thinks she can mess with me.
PSS: I may not have had a flu or cold in 8 years BUT I’ve had 1.5 kidney infections and mildly poisened myself on multiple occasions to figure out the things I’m sharing with you today. TRIAL and error be real.
