❗️ Voortrekker Monument parkrun Cancelled – Saturday, 5 & 12 September ❗️

Unfortunately, Voortrekker Monument parkrun will not take place on Saturday, 5 or 12 September, due to events taking place at the Voortrekker Monument. The venue and route will not be available to us on these dates.

As another running event will be making use of the venue and route, it will not be possible to safely host our parkrun. As always, the safety of our parkrunners, volunteers and all event participants remains our highest priority. 💚

But don’t let that stop your Saturday morning parkrun tradition! 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Why not visit one of our neighbouring parkruns instead?

🌿 Botanical Garden parkrun (also closed on the 5th but open on the 12th September)
🌳 Valhalla parkrun
🌳 Bronberrik parkrun
🌿 Midstream parkrun

💜 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING VTM PARKRUN VOLUNTEERS! 💜

Yesterday’s parkrun was another massive success, and that simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people who give up their Saturday mornings to make it happen. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️☀️

To every volunteer who was out on the course, cheering, marshalling, scanning barcodes, handing out tokens, keeping time, tailwalking, helping at reception, setting up and packing away — THANK YOU! 🙏💜

But there’s something we want to say today…

Some of our biggest heroes don’t always appear in the pictures. 📸

They are the ones arriving early while most people are still getting out of bed.
The ones working quietly behind the scenes.
The ones making sure everything is ready, safe and running smoothly.
The ones staying behind to pack everything away when everyone else has already headed home.

You might not see them in the photos, but we see you. 💜

Every job, big or small, makes a difference. Every smile, every encouraging word and every helping hand is part of what makes VTM parkrun the special community that it is.

So from all of us at VTM parkrun…

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who volunteered yesterday. 🌸
