Students who train in karate are much less likely to be bullied - or become bullied - as they develop greater self-confidence and respect for others. Children's school work and classroom behaviour can be greatly improved through karate's disciplined and respectful

training environment. There are over 600 muscles in the human body and you will use every one of them during an average karate class. An adult student can burn up to 1000 calories in a typical one hour karate class, with significant weight loss within the first 6 months. Enhanced flexibility from karate training can greatly increase posture and vitality, and can assist in the prevention of many age-onset injuries. Accomplishments in karate are often seen in a positive light prospective employers who rightly attach images of strength, trust and good character to those who study it. Shotokan style karate was developed from different martial arts by Japanese Sensei Gichin Funakoshi. 🥋 A Masterclass in Excellence: Reflections on our Seminar with Shihan Murakami 🥋

​What an unforgettable chapter for our dojo! We are still buzzing from the energy, discipline, and wisdom shared during our international seminar with the legendary Shihan Manabu Murakami.

​To train under an 8th Dan and 3-time World Champion is a rare privilege. Shihan Murakami’s expertise is more than just physical mastery; it is a masterclass in the "Budo" spirit. Our students, from our youngest white belts to our most senior black belts, were treated to insights that only decades of elite-level experience can produce.

​Seeing Shihan’s precision and fluid power up close was truly inspiring. The dojo was charged with focus, respect, and a shared passion for karate that transcends borders. We are so proud of our students for the dedication they showed. The sense of camaraderie and "OSS" spirit was at an all-time high!

​A massive thank you to Shihan Murakami and Sonny Pillay - Hanshi for traveling to be with us and for pushing us all to be 1% better. We move forward with sharper techniques and renewed inspiration.
