Dear Coaches,
Tennis South Africa is please to confirm that players, coaches and facilities that comply with the national alert level 3 government regulations and the Tennis SA COVID-19 guidelines can return/open with immediate effect.
This is good news for all, but obviously there is still a lot to be done before we can return to the tennis court.
Please note the following important points that must be in place before returning:
Coaches must be in possession on a COVID 19 licence. These are being sent to the coaches today and must be kept with the coach at all times;
The attached documents must be on display at each venue/club at all times and the checklists followed pertaining to re-opening;
Sanitary checks and cleaning of venue
Screening station at the venue to be set up;
Provinces to submit to TSA a full list of their respective COVID 19 Compliance officers (Club, District, Province);
Coaches are automatically COVID 19 Compliance officers in addition to the venue appointed person;
Court booking system to be implemented;
All persons to adhere to the regulations at all times.
Play Tennis Coaches must still comply with standard coaching regulations and may not coach alone;
Coaching at private courts or gated communities is not permitted. Only at affiliated facilities.
To assist with this process we have attached a TSA COVID-19 info pack which contains all key information.
In the event of a coach not having received a COVID licence but having submitted their application this could be due to the following:
Coach may not be registered;
Coach may not be compliant with certain coaching requirements;
Coach may not have submitted venue approval documentation;
To ensure that COVID 19 licenses are issued as quickly as possible, it is important for the coach to:
Submit the application and venue approval in one document;
Ensure the venue is affiliated and in good standing
If coaches are in the process of only submitting the documentation from today, then they need to realise there will be a delay as several verification steps need to be conducted prior to the license being issued. However, TSA will try to ensure these are issued as quickly as possible.
We trust that this news will be received in a positive manner, but need to re-emphasise the importance of being compliant before returning to court at the specific venue. We all need to act responsibly and realise we are accountable.
Kind regards,
Victoria Botha.
