One Massive Drive... Still Only a Par! | Pecanwood Hole 4

The fourth at Pecanwood is a short par 4 with deep bunkers protecting the left side of the fairway and a sloping green surrounded by more sand.

We smashed our drive and finished just short of the green. A great chip gave us a downhill birdie opportunity, but we couldn’t convert it and had to settle for par.

“Just Go Home, Ball!” | Pecanwood Hole 3

Ray from GolfXplore and I took on Pecanwood’s challenging third hole, a par 3 protected by water on the right and a bunker on the left.

Our tee shot only just cleared the water, but we still had a chance at birdie. The putt struck the back edge of the cup and refused to drop, cue Happy Gilmore: “Just go home!” We settled for par.

Back-to-Back Pars at Pecanwood | 2-Man Scramble

After making par on the opening hole, Ray and I moved to Pecanwood’s second, a slightly shorter par 4 with a wide, inviting fairway. The danger is the well positioned bunker on the right, followed by an elongated green protected by water down the same side.

We stayed out of trouble, combined our best shots and secured another par. Level par through two!

Can We Start Pecanwood With a Par? | 2-Man Scramble

Ray from GolfXplore and I started our two-man scramble on Pecanwood’s demanding opening par 4. The hole bends slightly to the left, with fairway bunkers waiting on both sides. The ideal tee shot favours the right side, leaving an approach into a large green.

We kept it steady and walked away with par. A solid start but could we go lower?
