Die Bosveld will be closed for both hiking and cycling on Saturday, 12 September for Die GROOT Stap and Bosveld Acoustics. If you wish to join us for a hike, late entries for Die GROOT Stap will be available on the day between 06h00 and 08h45, with the 10 km walkers starting at 08h00! A small reminder that can make a big difference. 🎣Recently, a reed cormorant at Die Bosveld was found tangled in discarded fishing line, with a hook caught through its wing. Thankfully, it was rescued, treated at Onderstepoort and successfully released again.

This story had a happy ending, but it’s an important reminder to all our anglers: please take all fishing line, hooks and other tackle with you when you leave. Even the smallest piece left behind can pose a serious danger to our wildlife.

Let’s enjoy the dam responsibly and help keep Die Bosveld safe for everyone who calls it home. 🦆
