As we head into the final week of Provincial competition for the 2023 season. The GMCA council wishes every team, athlete, coach and adjudicator all the best for the preparation ahead.

I'm writing what will most probably be our final post with conflicted feelings.
Unfortunately, due to the changes that were introduced by SAMCA we have decided not to continue with Vega Stars as we would not have the sufficient number of athletes to participate. When reflecting over the past year we are humbled by what this team has achieved. Achievements that have exceeded our wildest expectations.
Our training field - a public park and with no coach, we soldiered on. Girls, your commitment, dedication and constant focus on the final result made you the true stars of this team. Certainly a year with both highs and lows, with the highs far outweighing the lows. Some of those highs were being able to participate at Nationals and placing 🥇in Baton and 🥉 in Mace for Small Groups. We are proud to say that the girls then went on and achieved their Senior Gauteng and SAMCA Colors.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Patrick, Tina, Matt, and Alicia for their support and guidance over the past year. Without your help, we would not have been able to achieve the outcomes we did.
Heleen & Chani thank you for the huge contribution to the team, we could not have done this without you and would like to wish you the very best with your new adventure.
We are super excited as we have now joined our new team going from the smallest to the largest team in Gauteng and we look forward to achieving even greater heights with you.
ALWAYS REMEMBER IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT.
