An impressive overall win for Ethan Coetzee at Kyalami today.

Well done to Ethan Coetzee for the overall win in the Astron Energy Polo Cup at Kyalami today. A tough start to the weekend but after a change for Quali, we found a better setting, which allowed me to qualify 5th for race 1. A tough race, but managed to finish up in second place. A better starting position in race 2 in third, but another tough battle to ultimately finish that race in second all. We go to Gqberha (Port Elizabeth) with a slender points lead in the championship standings. Thanks to Lee Thompson Racing for all the advice and tuition to be in this position. A final thanks to my Dad for his unwavering dedication and always making sure the car is race ready.

A great weekend of 24 Hours of Ilamuna endurance race at Redstar this weekend. Well done to Mark Castel and his team for another fantastic event. Our team (Octane Outlaws)consisting of 3 total novices and myself stepping in at the last minute as a substitute for the 4th driver due to him not being well. The original goal was just to try and finish, but our trusty Mk1 delivered a 3rd position in class and 7th overall out of 61 cars. Completing 480 laps around 1920 kms of non stop racing. Proud of how the guys managed the steep learning curve after being thrown in the deep end. Well done Craig Meerholz, Sean and Daniel. Let’s start planning the next one. In addition our car also won Best looking car OG (Original Gangsta). Thanks to Craig for your passion and commitment in making this happen. The car was prepped and looked after by the JRT team of Spyker, MT and Odwa and ran the full 24 hours with only a couple of minor issues.

Coetzee confirmed as 2023 VW Challenge B champion
