Mr Jeff Swinford at it again with some long range culling. It’s necessary for us to get mouths off the veld during dry times so that the herd may flourish and have enough food. This pig was taken at 400 odd yards, one and done.

Gene got himself another beauty, going for his wildebeest grand slam, he managed to get the blue, black and golden with us and is planning on a return trip to get the rest. We had spotted these a ways away and stalked them into 67 yards and Gene put a great shot into him through the tinniest of gaps and folded him.

Gene snagged himself a boss black wildebeest today in some high winds. We started the hunt looking for a mountain reedbuck, found a boss ram and decided to go for a blesbuck instead, found some that were ok and decided the white blesbuck were better so we put a stalk on that, and a boss red hartebeest messed that up and we decided to then go stalk that, half way through that stalk saw a boss black wildebeest and ultimately decided this was the one we were going to go for. We lay down and at 478 yards with a 3 moa wind Gene slotted on straight into the shoulder and the wildebeest went 100 yards and fell over.

When the men aren’t getting it done the nick has to break out the secret weapon and get his daughters to get the job done. As part of the breeding program, and very careful selection we take out old kudu cows that are finished breeding to allow the younger stronger females a chance to breed. Jess had finally had her chance to shoot a kudu, and using the biggest rifle in camp she used the 6.5 CM and put a perfectly placed shot on this kudu cow and put her down within 50 yards. Well done Jess.

Boss of a Golden Wildebeest for Gene. Paired up with Ryan, they spotted this group from over 2000 yards and stalked them to 130 odd yards through some thick stuff and Gene put a perfect shot straight through the heart and dropped this bull within 100 yards.

Golden wildebeest for Gene today. We had spotted these guys from around 2000 of yards and managed to close the distance to around 160 yards through the trees. When the time came Gene didn’t fail to put a top shot through the heart and putting this animal down cleanly and ethically.

Form the tiny to the massive! Kent got himself a boss hippo bull this week. These are never easy targets to hunt as they spend most of their time in the water, and requires a very precise shot to the brain. Kent made it look easy on this bull and put the shot into him exactly where it needed to be. Well done Kent .
