Wembley Tennis Club Bringing tennis to our local community! Wembley Tennis club is approximately 80 years old and started off with three courts of the existing complex.

Adjacent to Wembley was Queens Tennis Club, which had four courts and the bottom two courts housed Villiers Tennis Club. Due to a lack of new players coming in to the game, Villiers closed, closely followed by Queens. Brian Bands took over the Queens courts and had a very successful junior coaching club. Once again, due to a lack of new juniors coming in, this also closed and Wembley took over the

lease for the whole complex. The club has been through many highs and lows (more lows than highs over the past 20 years) but, we are now experiencing a wave of new members bringing in new strength and boosting our membership to a new high! We are also participants in the local inter-club league programme and have the past few years, consistently fielded numerous men's, ladies and mixed teams doing especially well with our Men's Premier sides. So, if you are interested in joining this dynamic tennis club, we can offer you a wide range of membership categories, as follows:

1. Full membership.
2. Mid-week membership.
3. Family membership.
4. TBTC membership (primarily for strong male players by invitation)
5. Casual membership.
6. We also have groups who hire the courts for social tennis. The fee structure varies with each category and is also reviewed every year. See our notice board for more details regarding current fee structures. Our financial year is 01 March to 28 February. 🎾🏆 Wembley Does It Again! 🏆🎾

Our Dream Team — Vicky, Leila, Danie and Kianu — have won the TSA Amex Club Champs Eastern Cape Regional Round, coming out on top against Cradock, Burgersdorp and Westview.

Not only have they secured their place at the National Club Champs Finals in Sun City this September, but they have also successfully defended their Eastern Cape Regional title, making them Eastern Cape Regional Champions for the second year in a row! 🥳👏

What an incredible achievement and a proud moment for Wembley. The team has represented our club brilliantly, showing determination, teamwork and true Wembley spirit throughout.

Congratulations, Vicky, Leila, Danie and Kianu, we couldn’t be prouder. The entire Wembley family will be behind you as you take on the best clubs in the country in Sun City.

What a proud day for Wembley Tennis Club!

Our teams have won both the A Division and B Division titles at the TSA Amex National Club Champs district rounds.

To all our players who represented Wembley, a BIG thank you and very well played! You wore the Wembley colours with pride and have made us all incredibly proud.

Now it's on to Cradock for our A Division champions, who will be looking to defend their title in the regional finals next weekend.

Good luck, team – we're behind you all the way.

EVOLVE TENNIS JUNIOR CLASH – SPOTS STILL OPEN! 🎾

Evolve Tennis will be hosting our exciting Junior Clash Tournament this Sunday, 17 May, at Wembley Tennis Club, and we still have a few spots available for players to enter!

This promises to be a fun and competitive day filled with great tennis, match play experience, and awesome energy on court. Players of all levels are welcome.

The level of tennis throughout the day was seriously impressive, with some fantastic matches, big rallies and great competition right across all divisions. The guys really pitched up and gave it everything out on court 💪

The wait is almost over! 🎾

Today we reveal the final teams competing in the Wembley Men’s Doubles Tournament 2026 — and what a field it has turned out to be 👏

We unfortunately didn’t receive a team write-up from one team… so we’ll assume they’re saving all their talking for the tennis court 👀💥 One thing is certain — they’ll be ready to compete and add even more quality to an already stacked tournament draw.

With the top doubles pairs from around the Eastern Cape ready to battle it out, Saturday promises a full day of high-quality tennis, fierce competition, and unbelievable club spirit.

A huge thank you to all the players, supporters, sponsors, and members who have helped build the excitement around this event. Now all that’s left is to play!
