As Chairperson of Discover Mandela Bay, it is truly encouraging to reflect on the success of the Africa Coastal Marine & Maritime Tourism Trade Market, held on 20 March 2026 here in Nelson Mandela Bay.
This impactful three-day event brought together students, educators, and industry stakeholders, creating a dynamic platform to explore the vast opportunities within the maritime and tourism sectors. It was inspiring to see such strong engagement from our youth, who are the future of this growing industry.
A special word of appreciation goes to the team from Nelson Mandela University — Dr Rosemary Manyevere, Ms Cashas Brandt, Ms Toleka Vapi, and Ms Mihlali Mbangeni — for their outstanding contributions. Their insightful presentations provided learners with clear guidance on career pathways, academic opportunities, and the steps needed to succeed in the maritime and tourism space. Their passion and expertise truly made a lasting impact.
