Yet again, we had a magnificent turnout this weekend.
After hearing that Kowie's Greens were closed for a few days, I sent out an invitation to their club to join us for the afternoon and they obliged and sent around 20 members across (40+ PA Bowlers), and all and sundry enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of bowls.
You guys rock!

A little bit about croquet...

At Port Alfred Croquet Club, we play Golf croquet which is a fast-paced, highly tactical game where players take alternating single strokes to navigate six hoops in a strict sequence, competing to be the first to reach 7 points.

Setup & Basics
*Teams & Colours: Played as singles or doubles. One side plays the blue and black balls, and the opposing side plays red and yellow. In play, each player keeps the same colour ball throughout.
*Turn Sequence: Play moves strictly in the order of colours marked on the central peg: Blue → Red → Black → Yellow.
*The Start: The winner of a coin toss decides who plays first or chooses their ball colours.
*One stroke per turn.

At Port Alfred Croquet Club, we play doubles on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons; and singles on Friday afternoons. For beginners, we offer free coaching on Wednesday mornings at 09h00.

So join us if you're keen!
