Blasting Ticket Course Break Down

Blasting Ticket is a full qualification that has to be implemented inform of a learnership and as you may probably know, it has to take you 12 months.

Blasting Ticket of Competence:
Hill Training Solutions in conjunction with Prisma Training Solutions would like to bring to you the first of its kind. Welcome to the first Open Blasting Ticket Course in Limpopo. This is your ultimate chance to clinch this prestigious certification.
The training will be taking place in Limpopo - Polokwane as follows
1. Competent Persons A 9th - 12th January 2017
2. Blasting Assistant 16th - 18th January 2017
3. Blasting Practice 19th - 21st of January 2017

That although the course has three core modules as above, our main target is to provide the overall qualification which is the Blasting Ticket or call it the National Certificate: Rockbreaking: Underground Hard Rock.

Let's clear the air on Blasting Ticket of Competency. We have been receiving numerous calls from you guys wanting to do Blasting. As we pride being the few institutions that can get you this accolade, there is a great limitation to achieving this. The first one is you need to be working in the mine as it's only the mines with Blasting licence of practice. You need to be attached with an institution that is full time doing Blasting.

The second obstacle is the fee and duration. We hoped so much that the regulation of the Blasting Ticket would be brought back to Department of Mineral Resources but this failed and it's still under the regulation of MQA. This means it's still taking the old route which MQA calls The National Certificate in Rock Breaking and it has two directions this the Underground and The Surface.

According to MQA, Underground takes 3 years and Surface takes 2years. So you can see challenges with this course.

The cost under the MQA system is just abnormal. Close to R200000 per year. That is why the course is normally a sponsored learnership by departments such as by DMR because only a few can afford privately.

That is why if you are full time employed in the mine, it becomes very easy as you will be or will have accumulated the working shift hours that deems you competent to work with the entire Blasting process.
