FAT LOSS DOESN’T START WITH MORE CARDIO. 🔥
By Robert King
If your goal is fat loss, your strength training doesn’t need to turn into endless cardio with weights.
But there ARE ways to structure your lifting to make your workouts more efficient and keep you moving.
Here are two of my favorites:
🔥 1. TRAIN YOUR BODY AS ONE SYSTEM
Instead of thinking “leg day,” “arm day,” “chest day,” try training your full body.
Build workouts around fundamental movement patterns:
• Squat
• Hinge
• Push
• Pull
• Lunge
• Carry
Full-body training lets you work a lot of muscle in each session, train movements more frequently and get a tremendous amount of quality work done without living in the gym.
🔥 2. USE UPPER/LOWER SUPERSETS
This is one of my favorite ways to structure fat-loss-focused strength training.
Pair a lower-body movement with an upper-body movement:
Goblet Squat → Dumbbell Row
Romanian Deadlift → Shoulder Press
Reverse Lunge → Dumbbell Bench Press
While one area is recovering, another is working.
That means less standing around, more work in less time, and you can keep the pace of the workout up without turning your strength session into sloppy cardio.
The key is still to LIFT.
Use challenging weights.
Control your reps.
Keep good technique.
Progress your training.
You don’t need to make every workout longer.
You don’t need to add endless cardio.
Sometimes you just need to make your strength training smarter and more efficient.
Train the whole body.
Pair upper + lower.
Lift with purpose.
