⛳ Back 9 Open for Play

After the past 48 hours of heavy rain and flooding, we’re pleased to share that the back 9 is now open for play, with the full 18 expected to reopen on Monday.

A special thank you to our course team for their hard work over the past two days. Looking at where we were yesterday, it's incredible to see how much progress has been made in such a short space of time.

We ask all golfers to continue exercising caution around the course while conditions continue to improve.

The Bunnies spent their Friday morning talking all things driver, with PGA Professional Ruben guiding the session, answering questions and helping build confidence one swing at a time.

The best part? Sharing the experience with a group of ladies who are all on their own golfing journey.

From presenting alongside his father to playing one of South Africa's most iconic golf courses, it was a memorable week for our Head Superintendent, Wesley Pain. ⛳️

Wesley recently attended the 12th Talking Turf Superintendents' Conference at Pestana Kruger Lodge in the Kruger National Park, where turf professionals from around the world gathered to share knowledge and explore the latest developments in turf and golf course management.

A special highlight was the opportunity to present alongside his father, Mark Pain, during a session on “Generational Superintendents”, sharing insights and experiences from two generations in the profession.

To top it all off, Wesley also experienced the magic of the Kruger and enjoyed a round at the world-renowned Leopard Creek Country Club. 🐆

We're proud to have passionate people like Wesley continually investing in their craft and bringing that knowledge back to Goose Valley. Welcome back, Wesley!

James “Jimmy” van der Westhuizen has been part of the Goose Valley family for over 17 years—a familiar, welcoming face to every member, visitor, and colleague who walked through our doors.

In recent years, Jimmy has been quietly managing a painful chronic illness without complaint, and sadly, his health has now reached a point where he can no longer continue to work.
